Athena Redmond
Mineo graduated with Honors earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology
and drama from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1978. Her background in the area of psychology provides the firm and its clients with much needed insight into the potential long term effects of the physical and emotional injuries that have been sustained by clients as a result of personal physical trauma or the deaths of loved ones. Mrs.
Mineo concentrates her practice in the areas of personal injury and damage analysis.
Mrs. Mineo's legal education includes studies at the
University of Notre Dame Law School and the London School of Economics Center for Legal Studies, London England. She received her Juris Doctor degree in law from the Campbell University School of Law. She served in 1981-1982 as the President of Women in Law and as a
member of the Honors Council for the law school.
Upon graduation, Mrs. Mineo served as the Health, Education, Welfare, Social Security and Federal Retirement Legislative Counsel for North Carolina's Senator Helms in Washington, D.C. Her responsibilities included legal counsel to the Senator in her assigned areas of responsibility. In addition Mrs.
Mineo served as constituent liaison in the aforementioned areas and chaired Education Hearings for the United States Department of Education.
After leaving Washington, Mrs. Mineo served as corporate counsel for Society Brand Industries, a company consisting of six manufacturing facilities located throughout the continental United States and Puerto Rico. At Society Brands Mrs.
Mineo was responsible for contract negotiations, acquisitions and manufacturing arbitration.
Mrs. Mineo is a member of the North Carolina State Bar,
Hayes Barton Baptist Church and the Raleigh Junior
League. |
