Aviation Accident
Mineo & Mineo began as an aviation litigation firm representing clients seeking
damages for injuries or death caused by or involving aircraft. We now have
represented many individuals, families, aviation crew members, corporations, and
organizations in litigation resulting from aviation accidents both worldwide and
nationwide involving major commercial carriers, aircraft charter flights and
private aircraft.
Aviation litigation
is complex. It requires a command of not only the law but also of the technical
aspect of aviation equipment, aerodynamics, flight procedures, and Federal
Aviation Administration Regulations. Our reputation in this field is built upon
the experience gained by Mr. Mineo, who holds a degree in aerospace engineering
and practiced as an engineer for many years before becoming an attorney; and
Mrs. Athena Mineo, whose expertise in the areas of psychology and business
compliment the technical background of her husband. The partners in the firm
have a total of over 54 years of aviation, business and legal experience.
In addition, the responsibility for damages in a typical aircraft disaster
involves highly sophisticated principals of domestic and international law. The
cases often involve many months or years of preliminary government hearings,
pretrial discovery, trials and appeals. A few of the cases that we have
participated in over the years have included disasters such as the crash of Pan
Am 103 in Scotland, American Eagle 3378 in Raleigh, N.C., UAL 232 in Sioux City,
and USAir 5050 in New York; along with many other general aviation and commuter
crashes.
